Dr Caroline Kitcatt MBACP (Snr Accred) is Centre Director of the Norwich Centre and Managing Director of Norwich Centre Projects Ltd. She has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling from the University of East Anglia (UEA), and is now the Course Director on that course with particular responsibility for the module on spirituality and counselling. Since qualifying in 1996 she has practised as a counsellor, supervisor and trainer in a number of different settings, as well as managing the Norwich Centre since 1999. She has studied for qualifications in counselling supervision (UEA Advanced Certificate in Counselling Supervision); teaching (PGCE) and management (PGCM) and recently completed her Doctorate in Education at UEA. She has a passionate interest in counselling, spirituality, and spiritual accompaniment, and in what the person-centred approach can offer in this area, and this was the subject of her doctoral research. Her thesis, 'Dancing Barefoot: An exploration of women's experience of the spiritual accompaniment/direction relationship' can be downloaded from the UEA website She has delivered lectures and workshops for various organisations around the country including the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Her hobbies include singing, dance, yoga and gardening.
