The Norwich Centre |
Setember 2007 - completed!

The annexe is finished!
The annexe has been built in as environmentally friendly way as possible in line with the environmental policy of the Norwich Centre. The use of a timber frame is more energy-efficient than a more conventional frame such as brick and block or steel. Also it serves to combat climate change by locking up carbon and being sustainably sourced encourages the management of sustainable forests.
Work started in June 2007 to finish the building. A substantial amount of the money raised has come from individual supporters who have committed regular sums to support the appeal. Thank you to every one who has supported this appeal, it has enabled us to get this far and will enable us to help many more clients in the future, including wheelchair users. We are now using the annexe, and we will of course be having an opening ceremony l- watch this space!
I hope that you will feel able to continue to support this appeal as we still need to carry out further work such as re-surfacing the car park to enable wheelchairs to cross it, widening various internal and external doorways and completing the scheduled repair programme to the building. We also have to continue to repay the loan of £30,000 which we took out in order to complete the second stage of the annexe. The addition of the annexe will of course enable us to generate more income as the usage builds up. I estimate that is likely to take 12 months. As you will see from the Annual Report 2006 which is available online now, our reserves are now very low following a difficult year last year, so your continued help and support is very important to us.
