This one-year, part-time course is designed for adult students to gain the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to practice counselling skills using the person-centred approach developed by the late Carl Rogers. It includes developing listening skills, nurturing self-awareness including the spiritual element of self and understanding the role and use of counselling skills in the workplace and beyond. It is particularly suited to those working or volunteering in the caring professions, teaching, social work, human resources and pastoral roles.  If you have not had experience of working in a caring or helping role, you should discuss this with your tutors, as it is important to have an arena within which you can practice your skills.
