THE NORWICH CENTRE

About Us

ACCESSIBILITY

The Norwich Centre is a very old building however, as an organisation we consider accessibility to be a necessity not a ‘add on’ or after thought.  Therefore, we have done all that we can with the limitations of the building to make it as accessible as possible and we strive to continually improve the service in respect of accessibility.

Our purpose-built annexe is at the rear of our building and is accessible to wheelchair users or those with mobility difficulties arriving by car and parking in our car park. There is one space allocated for parking for those with a blue badge.  There is a pathway next to the parking space to enable wheelchair users to enter the annexe. The entrance to the annexe gives wheelchair access to the waiting room, a counselling/training room and a toilet.   The driveway does not belong to The Norwich Centre and is gravel so is not suitable for wheelchair users.

The entrance to the front of the building is also accessible to those who need level access and wheelchair users, allowing access to the waiting area, counselling rooms, training room and accessible toilet.  There is also an additional room which is accessible to those who find stairs a challenge but this room is in regular use so this would need to be specified when coming in for an exploratory session.

The decor of the annexe has been chosen to have good contrast to aid those with a visual impairment.  We welcome any comments or feedback to help us to improve accessibility.

We have a portable hearing loop for those who would find this helpful.  Please ask us to set it up for you.

If you require assistance, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to help.

We have produced an Accessibility Strategy to improve access to our services and we welcome comments and feedback to help us improve accessibility.  Click here to view or download.
